What is volunteerism?

Beyond Doing Good – It’s a journey of self-discovery and development.

At Loving Heart, we believe that every volunteering experience has much to offer beyond the intentions to do good. It is also a journey where volunteers can have a chance to learn at the community through their engagement with the end-users and various stakeholders. In the process, they also get to learn more about themselves and grow through participatory reflections.

Our volunteers will gain first-hand experience on the ground and a deeper understanding of the social service sector. Most importantly, they get to build many meaningful connections with like-minded people as well.

Many of our clients at Loving Heart are also volunteers. They participated in programmes and services organised by Loving Heart and at the same time, contributes back to the community by volunteering. Many of our programmes are also inter-generational by nature as we are a multi-service centre which offers opportunities for both youth and seniors can come together to interact and learn from one another.

Loving Heart was appointed as the first Volunteer Centre in Singapore by SG Cares Office in 2018.  As a Volunteer Centre, we hope to enrich every volunteer’s journey with us and share best practices models and resources for fellow Social Service Agencies (SSA) in the Jurong district.  We believe in the power of collectivity where all SSAs can learn and grow from one another.
